La Push Sunset
Created in 1909 by President Theodore Roosevelt, Olympic National Park is located in the northwest corner of Washington State. In 1976 the Park was designated an International Biosphere Reserve and in 1981 it was designated a World Heritage site. Mt Olympus at 7,965 feet is the highest point in the Park. The Hoh and Quinault Rainforests on the western slopes of the Park receive over 150 inches of rain per year and are the wettest areas in the continental United States.
